Aqui estamos - Catedral de Cusco/ We are here - Cusco Cathedral

Impressive monument, not the most beautiful of Cusco but if, one of the most representative. Consisting of three temples in one: La Holy Family, the Cathedral itself and the Triumph. It can not avoid rubbing us our invaded  history; the clean cut that was made at a glorious era  for entering the  subjugation time.
The Holy Family is romantic, colorful, baroque and neoclassical, A dizzyingly rococo  main altar, venetian mirrors in some altar. Couples come here to get married in  both an intimate and spectacular  environment,  see brides coming into this temple  fills me with joy and I ask my fervent wish: May their history and dreams fulfill their destiny
The Cathedral itself is stunning, much higher, similarly, his Sevillian almost twin sister, with two altars for lack of one. One almost hidden in the rear, without gold leaf, Wooden with  the Virgin Asunta, several saints and Saint Peter, and the other one almost offensively spectacular, in female silver brought from Santo Tomas, wild land, with Doric columns.
The countless chapels which contains the Cathedral are proof of subliminal messages of our so much discussed Cusquenian  Paint School. It is true, we were not taught as  in an art school  the  painting techniques, we were forced to copy and hide our messages in little birds, In Virgins that seem from far Apusº, in bald monks  representing our Cosmo vision, in hidden characters crying out for understanding their  message; we are here, We were subjugated but not defeated, we still live in these relics, but above all, in you who look at us, trying  to decrypt us, still living and fighting to preserve our essence, we are here”
The ashes of Garcilaso de la Vega, the hidden noise from an underground spring, the great oval stone,  venerated only by locals, seek to reaffirm this message; we are here.
The Triumph, temple erected after the Spanish conquest over Manco Inca in 1536, which old name might offend, if we don’t understand it as a triumph of crossbree, as the triumph of Inc- Spanish marriage, the birth of a race that goes on with both legacies, as the effort of  people to preserve the best  of this explosive and wonderful mixture; we are here
